Oracle 11g implementation
Dec 8 2008, 10:57 AM EST | Post edited: Dec 8 2008, 10:57 AM EST
Hi all

We are about to implement Oracle 11g on a couple of PE2950's and an MD1000. One 2950+MD1000 for production, and the other 2950 for warm standby (Data Guard).

I have 2 internal 146Gb disks (SAS 15k rpm) in the production box and 8 x 146Gb disks in the MD1000, connected via a Perc 6/e card. I am mirroring the internal disks and configuring the MD1000 disks as RAID 10. I also have 2 separate mirrored 73Gb disks in the MD1000 for redo as I've been advised to keep it separate.

Please can someone advise me on what considerations I should make for the following settings when configuring the RAID 10.

- Stripe element size
- Read policy
- Write policy

Our database isn't that large (around 100gb) and we aren't using ASM.

Anything I forgot?!

Many thanks
Toby

PS. Does anyone know when Oracle 11g migration CD's will be available?

Thanks
