OpenManage on ESX 3i 3.5
Apr 30 2008, 2:24 PM EDT The VMware web site states that the latest version of ESX3i supports OpenManage 5.4 (http://www.vmware.com/support/vi3/doc/vi3_esx3i_i_35u1_vc25u1_rel_notes.html). Though I don't see any referenence to this anywhere. Is there a version of OpenManage that works with the 3i infrastructure? 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Apr 30 2008, 3:15 PM EDT From a management point of view, it is baked into the product. There is no service console on 3i to install any "agents". Follow the instructions in this document (VMware ESX 3i - Software on Dell PowerEdge Servers - Systems Management Guide) -- http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/solutions/msmpa00.pdf It will walk you through the steps of configuring SNMP on 3i to point to your ITA box for management.
