Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0 is the core that Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 is based on. Inherently, the Collaboration functionality is built into the core of Windows SharePoint Services. MOSS has all of the capabilities of WSS, with many more additional capabilities. The following diagram gives a clear picture of this, with WSS at the center and all of the MOSS modules around the outside.
