First a brief overview of our hardware...
M1000e Chassis Fabric A - Pass Through Modules Fabric B - M6220 Switch Modules Blades config Highlight - 4 NICs ( 2 on board and 2 on card) 2 EqualLogics 1 PowerConnect 5424 Our thoughts were to use the PassThrough modules hooking to the 2 on board nics to pass Public traffic. Then use the 2 nics on the card through Fabric B through the 6220 up to the PC 5424 connecting to our 2 EqualLogics. Now I just got through reading a chat that says the M6220 are not "optimized" for iSCSI but they will work. What should we be looking for in making sure the 6220 is setup properly for iSCSI? Also, we are just using the 4 external ports to connect to the 5424. Should those ports be trunked together? kept seperate? Or what would be a best practice to make sure there is no bottle neck at that part of the iSCSI network? Any other adivce for this type of setup (for the internal ports)? On the Blades we will be running vmware ESX. |
